Today (Sun, Oct 19): 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Readings: Ex 17:8–13; Ps 121; 2 Tim 3:14–4:2; Lk 18:1–8. ([Universalis][1])
Moses wins the battle only when others hold up his weary arms—purpose grows in community, not solo. The psalm sings: God is your tireless guard. Paul reminds us that Scripture is God-breathed—training us so we’re “ready for any good work.” Jesus’ parable of the persistent widow says: pray and don’t lose heart; if an unjust judge yields to perseverance, how much more will a just God act. Purpose-Driven takeaway:Identify your assignment today, then pursue it with prayerful persistence. Let someone “hold up your arms,” and be that support for another. Open Scripture before you open your tasks; let it equip your next step. Prayer: Lord, steady my faith, shape my focus, and make me faithful in small, persistent acts of love.
