Today (Tue, Oct 21, 2025) Readings: Rom 5:12, 15b, 17–19, 20b–21; Ps 40:7–10, 17; Lk 12:35–38.
Paul contrasts Adam and Christ: one brought sin and death, the Other brings grace that overflows. The psalm answers, “Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will”—purpose is obedience, not performance. Jesus urges vigilance: keep lamps lit, belts fastened, ready when the Master knocks—even in the “second or third watch.” Your purpose today isn’t grand gestures; it’s faithful readiness. Ask: Where is sin or discouragement reigning in my routines? Replace it with grace-fueled action—one apology made, one habit pruned, one person served. Travel light so you can open the door quickly. God delights to “wait on” servants He finds prepared; you don’t earn His love—you respond to it. Prayer: Lord, ignite my lamp. Help me say, “Here I am,” and do the next right thing—promptly, joyfully, and for Your glory.
