(Thu, Oct 23, 2025) Thursday of Week 29 Readings: Rom 6:19–23; Ps 1:1–4,6; Lk 12:49–53.
Paul calls us to hand our habits to God as “instruments” for right living. Sin pays wages—death—but God gives a gift—eternal life in Christ. The psalm says the blessed person delights in God’s law and grows like a tree by water—steady, fruitful, in season. Jesus’ words are bracing: He came to cast fire—purifying zeal—and His truth forces decisions that may even divide families. Purpose today: choose allegiance over comfort. Ask: Which routine is paying me “wages” I don’t want—cynicism, lust, envy, procrastination? Trade it for disciplined obedience: one concrete act that aligns with your calling (apology made, app deleted, task finished, generosity offered). Growth is rooted in daily delight, not occasional hype. Prayer: Lord, ignite Your fire in me. Make me steadfast like a watered tree; turn my compromises into convictions and my routines into worship.
