Today (Wed, Oct 22, 2025) — Week 29 in Ordinary Time
Readings: Rom 6:12–18; Ps 124(123); Alleluia Mt 24:42,44; Lk 12:39–48.
Paul calls us to refuse sin’s rule and offer ourselves to God as instruments of righteousness—freedom isn’t doing what I want; it’s being free to do what I’m made for. The psalm remembers rescue: “If the Lord had not been on our side…”—purpose rests on God’s faithfulness, not my hustle. Jesus warns to stay awake: a faithful steward is ready whenever the Master returns; much given, much required. Today’s assignment: audit my “hidden hours.” Where am I drifting? Replace vague intentions with one concrete act of stewardship—finish the duty I’ve been postponing, reconcile with someone, or share a resource entrusted to me. Travel light so I can respond quickly. Inspired by St John Paul II: “Be not afraid”—open wide the doors of my schedule to Christ
