Today (Sun, Oct 26, 2025) — 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Readings: Sir 35:12–14,16–18; Ps 34:2–3,17–18,19,23; 2 Tim 4:6–8,16–18; Lk 18:9–14.
Sirach says God hears the cry of the poor—no favourites, just justice. The psalm repeats it: the Lord is near to the broken-hearted. Paul, finishing his race, trusts the Lord who “stood by me” and will rescue. Jesus contrasts a self-congratulatory Pharisee with a tax collector who beats his breast: only humble honesty is justified. Purpose today: drop spiritual posturing and bring God your real self. Trade comparison for confession, pride for gratitude, independence for dependence. Serve someone who cannot repay; let your prayer be simple: “God, be merciful to me, a sinner.” Then walk in confidence—grace lifts the lowly and sends the rescued to rescue others. Prayer: Lord, tune my heart to the cry You hear. Make me small enough to receive mercy and bold enough to share it.
